Saying "GO" means that we are going to utilize the trust and respect we have for each other, by holding up the active mirror for each other and for ourselves. Each instructor today is charged with watching each other and writing a personal blog. The contents of that blog are things they notice one of their co-workers doing really well. Something that was effective for the students. A teaching moment that stuck out at them. This way, we can speak out loud about each other's strengths, and make these methods known. Also, we can move forward, so that our reflections allow us to move forward, and "get it right".
I'm excited to see what everyone writes about each other. I'm curious to know how this will help us to grow as a staff; gain more trust and reliability in each other.Ok, so there's another part to this. It's also important and a real test of trust to also point out, by name and by action, how people can improve. We need to start speaking out loud and clear about what is NOT working. This way, we can grow even more as a staff.
IMAGINE: we see what we do well, and do more of it. We are told what our weaknesses are and we strip ourselves of those. That way, we are replacing bad habits with good ones... and more!
Writing, talking, challenging, connecting, trusting, and respecting... through action.
It's all good.
P.S. - This is my first blog, so give me some time to develop my voice and style :)
